There is no longer any doubt as to
the fact that the County Jail prisoners had planned for making
wholésalé escape Sunday morning,
as was declared likely in yesterday’s
Transcrirt. While Fowler was
being brought back by Sheriff Montgomery, after his arrestat Colfax.
holding the sesions of said Court? the Jailor and clear the Jail of its
Nevada County are. authorized to allow and order paid any billg for room
rent so incurred, as above provided;
PROVIDED, nevertheless,that all such
bills shall be signed by said Sheriff,
and indorsed by him as correct.
