They were found by theagents of the Benevolent Society ; supplied with food, and made comfortable. Several other homes were made happy by the agents of the society. The Society is now thorough-ly organized and it deserves and should ._ receive the hearty co-operation of all good “Will be made. citizens, Such works-as it is now doing make the angels in Heaven rejoice. The ‘man or woman who relieves the wants of the suffering is doing God’s service. Let ‘every man in the city be enrolled upon the lists of the Society, and by giving a small “amount monthly, help to increase the power of the organization to aid the needyWe understand that the Directors will recommend at the next meeting of the Society a removal of the restriction which limits the number of active members to} fifty, and also recommend the admission of ladies as active members. These will _be great improvements and we hope they . A lady can do more charit‘able work in one day than a mancan in g@ week and they should be enlisted in the cause. We are requested to ask all those who know of persons who deserve the aid. of the Society, to report them to either of the officers. We give the names of the officers: G. K. Farquhar, E, F. Spence, E. F. Bean, E. G. Waite, Jonathan Clark, G. V. Schmidtburg, Jas. Munro and A. Goldsmith.
