The old Great Register was extinguished”
election purposes onthe first day of August
last, by an act of the Legislature of 1877-8.
We commenced to receive applications for re-.
registration about the first of last June, and
those who have not since been re-registered, .
either upon application or aftidavit, may
know that-they are mot now on’ the new
Great Reyister of Nevada County. ;
The next election under the new Great Register will be held on the first Wednesday in
May, 1879, for the ratification or rejection of
the new Coustitution now being proposed.
A new printed Great Register willbe required
for said election. The use of certificates of
‘registration has been abélished throughout
the State. To-enableyou to cast your ballot
your name must be found on the printed,
