CuNG TO" THE ORGANIzaTION.—The
~qurse pursued. by the copperheads since the
Presidential campaign, exhibits. o determination, on; their. ‘part to make another fight
for the Confederacy. Though at present
there seems.to be a disposition on.:the part.

will be the controlling element of that party.
“Though real friends of the Conféderacy and .

the copperheads, true“to their treacherous

for the Government by professions of love .

French yoke upon the people of Mexico:—
The ground of copperhend faith is treachery
and dishonesty, and nothing else can be expected from them in the next contest.
Those-who predicted that the eopperlieads
would abandon their organization after the
last coritest will be disappointed. The nucletié’ is still left for them, and so long as
Jeff. Davis i is able to, maintain himself, just
do long will he, find friends in the North
to organize a copperhead party. Union men
should cling to their organizations. No op~-portunity-should-be-lost-to instil loyal sen=

THEOLOGICAL IGNORANCE.—The Nevada Legislature have evidently paid ‘more attention to politics and-‘indications” than.to
theology. ‘One of the members of the
Legislature is @ Jewish Rabbi. Ainother
member, in speaking ‘of the reverend Jew,
referred to him asa follower of the meek
and lowly Jesus." The Nevada Legislature
“may be “seme” on Politics, ‘bub it is hardly
competent to deat with theological matters.

the general wealth. A large proportion’ ‘of
the population—too _ large, b by. far, for. the.
prospeiity of the State, occupies the position
of middle-men, those who stand between the
producer and consumer, and seek to make
fortunes by passing to and: fro the ‘articles
which are produced by one class and Gonsumed by another. Every one who has a
little money seems to think thatthe easiest
method of inaking a living is to open a. shop
of seme sort—a dry goods, vegetable, fruit,
pushed to such an extent that at least every
fourth, or at the farthest every fifth person
in the State depends solely upon barter of
some kind for a livelihood. Four or five
customers for each one depending upon the
profits, of trade for a livelihood! Is itu won‘der that trade is dull?
