The -claim from which this-gold came, comprises . 170 acres, upon which a prospecting shaft was sunk ‘to-the depth—of 114 feet, and thena tunnel driven in 500 feet, from which a winze was sunk on account of the bed rock pitching. From the bottom of this winze the ‘prospect herein. mentioned was -taken, but on account, of the water being quick, it has been found necessa¥y to run a lower tunnel to strike the channel at is lowest depth. This tunnel has been rin several hundred . feet, and will have to\be driven 600 further to reach the gravel cliannel and secure complete drainage. This will require. some months time, or until the coming Summer, when there isno doubt one of the richest gravel claims in the county will be. opened. __——— — Want te make a Noise.
