"The Delinquent Tax,List, amounting to over eleven columns, will be found in toy day's TRANSCRIPT. The suits Were cont menced in Justice Kendall’s Court, and the summons is published to-day. More than half the stiits are brought against Grass” Valley Township. About five handred suits were commenced,which is unusually large for the number of tax-payers in the county. All who would save additional costsavould do well to pay their taxes in‘to the Court. in Pleasant Valley. The parties-own mining claims on Negro Creek, about one mile from the Anthony House, on the-:road to Rough & Ready. To prevent the tree from falling across the mining company’s road, ropes were attached and men were pulling them. The tree came down and Harris attempted toescape,but was caught. and felled to the ground by.a limb of the * tree. His skull was laid bare some four inches:and his shoulder blade and collar tured, He was immediately taken up by the men, and Dr. James McConnell sent for, who dressed his wounds. His injuries are of avery scrious character and may prove fatal. Mr. Harris has been very unfortunate. Some weeks since his cabin was destroyed by fireand with it a stock of-provisions for the winter: MILITARY MEETING.—The regular monthly meeting “of the Nevada Light Guard wibe held. at the Armory this cvening.
