omething to Laugh At.
Most people rather laugh than.cry
at any time. Last night was the
first performance of ‘*‘Whims’ in this
city. This afternoon the company
will play at-two. o'clock, the prices
of admission being reduced to 25 and
50 cents. To-night the prices will
be 50 and 75 cents,-avd nothing © extra ta.reserve. There is a change of
programmeat each performance. The
Oakland Wribune says of ‘“‘Whims”:
“The play is-replete with all the feu
and jollity which have rendered
‘Hobbies,’ ‘Fun on the Bristol’ and
‘Pop’ eo successful, the situation being as ridiculous, the dialogue as
wittySand the ‘company by whiehit
is played siperior, if anything, to
those which have produced the comedies above named. Wherever the
‘company has-appeared, the press has
accorded the compliment of being a
first class company, with but few
equals, and to be the “superiors
. their line.”
