The lead was discovered in the cellar of one of the owners, and was traced toan old shed formerly used for stering charcoal. Here a shaft was sunk, and at adepth of thirty-two feet from the surface the ledge was found, three feet wide; In every bucket of rock brought picked, which.sparkled with free gold. It will pay at least five hundred dollars to the ton. Much of the’rock contains any amount of splendid looking sulpburets, We have before us now a piece of rock from the ledge, which sparkles with free gold. The. ledge runs through a number of gardens slong Spring street. Yesterday afteraooun several hundred persons examined the rock and the ledge was claimed on either extension for miles.
