Cost of the Celebration. :
ee
The citizens of Grass Valley contributed the sim of $462.75 to the
fund for celebrating the 104th annivesary ofour national independence,
aud the expenses of the affair amountito within $6.80 of the amount.
The quantity of fun had atthe celebration and the general good done by
the people of the-two ‘towns ‘getting
together for social enjoyment would
lave been cheap at double that cost.
