Tux upper corridors of the Navy
Department at Washington, accoriing toa epecial, were thrown into
high excitement Wednesday afternoon by the appearance of a very
pretty girl named Mamie Roe. She
wore a wide belt,-in which were displayed significantly a large pistol and
bowie-knife. ‘Iam looking for a
clerk in this building,” she said,
“and if I tind the villain I will kill
him on sight.” She showed a determination and was anxious to find
the individual, whose name she
would not divolge, After roaring
about for awhile, Mamie was kiudly
taken in hand by A. Brishams, a
clerk in the Stute Department, who.
" induced her to give up the knife snd
pistol and leave the building. She
left uuder protest, vowing, “I> will
kill that clerk or perish in the attempt.” Miss Rue is quite » handsome blonde, of rather short stature,
and bright, flashing eyes, and diesses very well, The Navy Department clerks are all on the qui vive
to find out who it is that Miss Roc
» wants to slaughter.
