The following proposition has been
made to the Water Commissioners
of San Fraucisco, by G. W, Kidd:
“JT herewith submit to the consideration of your honorable Board a
proposition to sell, on liberal terts,
the property of. the South Yaba Ca-mal Company, located in Nevada and
Placer Counties, Without going inte detail, I willbriefly state thut we
have a water-right covering a vast
area on and near the summit of the
Sierra Nevadu mountains, consisting
of numerous lnkes, reservwirs and
the South Yaba river, embracing a
water-shed of several hundred miles,
of a granite formation, aud also
~ + from 250 to 300 miles of canals and
flumes. We have recently constructed at a great expeuse ove of the
largest reservoirs in the United
States—in Fordyce Valley, Nevada
County—covering over 1,500 acres
with-an‘average depth of trom 30 to
40 feet. Were now delivering in
