No GruimblingThose who charge large fees for professional servies rendered, never are grumbled at. There 4re attorneys in this county who could have conducted the Beecher trial as well as Tracy, Beeth, Fullerton: and the others. Our attormeys would be grumbled at if they should charge one thousand dollars for such ser, vices, yet Eastern journals say that the fees paid counsel in the BeecherTilton trial were as follows; ‘Evarta received $25,000, Mr. Tracy $10,000, °Mr. Hill, $5,000, Mr. Beach $5,000, ~~ Mr. Fullerton, $2,500, Mr. Morris . $2,500, and Mr. Pryor $2,500. Mr. Shearman refused to accept money for his services. The Speaking To-night. All should remember. that Hon. -H. F, Page and G. G. Blanchard, will speak at the Theatre to-night. There will be reserved seats in. the} gallery for the ladies, and it is expected a large number will be in attendance. The speakers are able and earnest, aud their talk will interest all. Let citizens of all parties turn out and listen. The speaking will commence at 8 o'clock. As we have before remarked, Mr. Page has Warm personal friends here among ___. _men of both parties. His reception . should be such as will convince him that his labors while in Congress in behalf of his constituents is appreciated. ‘ Improved. We were pleased, while passing __over Auburu street, Grass Valley, the . _ other day, to discover that what we sometime since denominated the worst road in Nevada county, has been thoroughly coated with gravel, and is now in a very good condition, and when the rain shall have settled it the road will be the best in the county. Whether our notice —_— Brother Leech-to hurry up the-matter we-can not tell, but prgsume it did. Oursuggestions are generally heeded on road matters. (No joke}intended.) Union Hill School» The Trustees of Union Hill have made a propesition to J, C. Boynton, . formerly of Rough and Ready, to teach their school the coming year. We.can heartily indorse their action in the matter, ag we know Mr. Boynton to-be one of the most successful teachers in the county. Union Hill las the timber to makeone of the best schools in the county, and we feel convinced under Mr. Boynton’s charge it will beceme so. i itip Articles of Incorporation. Articles of incorporation of the Nevada Hydraulic Mining Company, were filed in the County Clerk’s office yesterday. The mine is in . Nevada county. The Trustees are B. Peast, John 8.
