He was appointed a member of the County Board of Examination, held in May.-and served with particular ability. } At that time heowas not examined and subsequently his certificate was renewed, an act warranted by law, by precedent repeatedly set in this county by former Superiatendents, as well as in other counties of the State. .Our-sole purpose in making Rolling a mémber of the Board was to obtain the most efficient teachers in the county — Some fourteen candidates were examined at the time and there were but few teachers qualified to serve.upon the Board, _INADV ER TANT.—The ‘Scavenger says its statement about Mr. Jacobs voting at the primaties here, was “inadvertant’’ and takes it back.
