LOCAL AFFAIRS.
The Dog Ordinance.
The City Fathers have passed a
dog ordinance. It is in substance
that no deg shall be allowed to-run
at large within the city limits except
upon certain conditions, namely:
“That a license be obtained by the
payment of $250 in advanee, and
after that is done the City Marshal
will provide a brass tag stamped
with a number. If the owner fails to
get the license it is the duty of Marshal Nihell and officer Scott to take.

and put them in the city pound and
keep them for forty-eight hours. If.

disposed of. Itis about time that}
a few thousand of the one-eyed,
_ three-legged and other kinds of curs,
that are running around loose, were
disposed of. No man who has a
good dog, will object to complying

having forty or fifty curs running after him. In every other city in
the State such. an ordinanee as the
one adepted by our Trustees is in
force, and we only hope the-officers
will do their duty faithfully in the
matter and then the people will not
