That Rich Mine.
A gentleman who came down from
Forest City on Fridty last, informs
us that the North Fork: Mine, at tbat
place, continues to be immensely
rich. On Thursday last he suw two
candle boxes of quartz specimens
brought from the mine‘to :the office
of Wells, Fargo & Co. The rock
te pounded ap in band mortars
and)jyielded® 281. ounces of guld-most of it very coarse. One piece
was picked out of the box, in his
presence, which weigtied over twenty ounces, and not a particle of
quartz could be seen-in it. He declared it to be the most beuutiful:
ehuuik he had ever seen ii Gulifornia. The ledge continues to be well
defined, and is now ubout three feet
thick. We-have been promised a
full report of all the mines ut Forest
City, and expect to getit in a few
days, for-puitieation ri t.2nassaI
