In another column the TRANACRIPT
presents its annual synopsis of the
Asssesor’s report, The labor and
patience required of Mr. Collins and
‘. his deputies in co-lecting and putting
on record the various facts regarding
the condition of the county, entitle
thosetoflicials to the greatest credit.
_{ The State Board of Equalization say
the character of their work is excelled in no other county, and that they
are more efficient and fair than the
average. Dan. Collins is a Democrat, to be sure, but his. virtues are
‘. great enough to more than offset
that failing. He and his deputies
have had more work to do in less
time this year than any set of men
formerly occupying the office. They
have done it well, and what more
can the peop'e-ask for ?
