Copper Mintnc.—The Last Chance
copper mine is now being worked with
excellent prospects. The shuftis down
210. feet. They are now running a leryel
northward on the véin, and hive a ledge of
superior ore. A large amount of ore is
sacked ready fur shipaiert. Parties from
San Francisco recentty examined the mine
with a view to building reduction works.—
They claim to have 9 proceas by which the’
surface ore, which. is not rich enough for.
shipment, can be made to yield » hatidsome

copper mines in which the owners still have.

Hieuway RogpBpery.—On last Thursday
last, eight or ten Chinamen werd stopped
at the crossing on the Yuba river, between
Moore’s Flat and Minnesota, by three highs
waymen, and robbed of all the money they
had; about’ $402 The Chinamen, after be«
ing robbed, were terribly beaten by the
scoundrels. We understand that one of the
poor fellows will be likely to lose bis eyes.
