LOCAL INTELLIGENCE,
SrrucK It Ricu.—The Eagle Company, at Grizzly Hill, near Snow Point,
in this connty, struck @ very rich strata
of quartz~and geld in—their-imine,-on
Wednesday last. ‘The owners of this
claim reside in Hartford, Connecticat, .
and they have had the mine worked:
under the superintendence of various
parties for the past two years, and now
it:is in charge of Myron Foot. The
Company, after spending an immense
amount of money upon their claim, had
nearly concluded it would not. pay to
continue the werk much longer, when
to the delight of the Superintendent, a
piece of rock weighing five pounds was
yielded a little. over $20. .This was
found in the forenoon, and in the. afternoon, the work being. pushed ahead
vigorously, a ledge was strack, measuring six feet in width, and in the cen*re was a strata about two feet wide, of
the richest lot of quartz ever seen in
that section of the county. Several
large sacks of the rock were taken out,
