A few days ago Robinson, the anti-debris spy, or expert as some people call him, visited a small hydraulcity, and gave orders to have the works closed ‘down, or in default commenced against the owners. This is what we call very small potato business, when we take intoconit would take several years for any of thedebris from this little mine to reach any of the rivers. If Robinson wants a’ ant, and call his attention to a man in this city who threatens to take a bath, for the.first time in two years. By this operation a large amount of slickens will doubtless be sent into Deer Creek, and this would be a good opportunity for the anti-debris fiends to exercise their authority. Sawyer will grant the injunction if somebody will only ask for it. The anti-debris fellows’are anxious to earn not shut their eyes to thia great wrong which is threatened. teeWhat Should Be Expected. A meeting of the subscribers to the stock of the North Star Mining Co., was held at Grass Valley on Monday evening, says the Tidings. There were about 109 stocchollers present, representing merchants, miners and professional men. Mr, W. B. Bourn, President of the Company, called the meeting to order and, proceeded to state that the object for which tha meeting was called was te inform the subscribers what. had been done since having received their signatures, and submit for their inspection all books, papers, etc, The papers of incorporation of the new company, the deed of the old the consent of sale of stockholders.of the old company, together with other ducuments, were read and approved of. After which remarks were made by several stockholders warmly endorsing the enterprise and eulogizing its projectors. A motion was then introduced as follows: Resolved, That it is the sense of this meeting that the Board of Directors be instructed to immediately call in the first installment of 25 per cent, and start to work onthe mine, The resolution was carried unani mously. Work will be commenced removing Scotia company’s building and machinery immediately after the first installment is paid, The directors of the company will meet tomorrow, at San Francisco. ‘Now the people of Grass Valley can safely look forward to a new era’ in mining. © Mr.Bourn stated that there was a plan on fovt in San Francisco, among capitalists ‘to introduce uew water power into Grass Valley, from such a point that every mine in this part of the country ‘any circumstances, which settles the matter.so far as he is concerned. could be run with water power, and the resumption of work atthe North Star mine would be an incetitive to immediate operations on the part of the new water company, The expense of wood alone in running a large mine is enormous, and the introduction of the new water system will enable many mines, containing low grade ore, to be successiully worked. Wood for winter use will be immediately put in at the North Star, so that when the steam isstarted there will beno delay in the work. Our people have'a right to rejoice over the ‘bright prospects, and at present writing it looks as though Grass Walley would. soon be better than she ever was. We are incredibly informea that the Allison Ranch willbe the next mine to fa'l into line. Mountaineer Mine. The Mountaineer mine ‘continues to look splendid. They have a twofoot ledge in one drift, and .a fourfoot ledge in another, and the rock is of good grade. The new 20-stamp mill will ve put in operation the early part of next month. It is said the owners have taken out more money than the mine cost, besides making many valuable improvements. Unless a mine in Nevada county does just that thing San Francisco capitalists have no faith in mines sv near home. . The Change in Time. The San Francisco. Bulletin reiterates the statement made by it about ten days ago, concerning a proposed’ change in the morning time on the C. P. R.
