A candidate for State Senator will be named at some future time by the County Central Committee, The Joint Senator for this county and Sierrs will be nominated by a joint convention to be held at San Juan to-morrow. Assemblymen—R. P. Farguson is a lumber dealer of Boca ; J. B. Patterson. a.miner in Little York township ; Jas. Marriott, of North Bloomae Ss —Saperion Judge—John_ Caldwell i is at ‘present County Judge, and fills the office with ability. Sheriff—Joseph Perrin, known all ~ over the county as ‘Uncle Joe,” isa miner.and rancher. Filled the office of Sheriff one term a few years sinoe, ‘and with satisfaction. OClerk—J, G. O'Neill,\ a school teacher at Columbia Hi. Has resi‘ded in the county many years. Treasurer—G. von Schmittburg, who resides in this cit#, is in business, and is very poptlar with all classes, He was Postmaster: here for four years. Recorder—John A. Rapp is ; the present incumbent of the office, and discharges his dutics in a creditable manner. District Attorney—E. H. Gaylord , fills the office at present. The people are’ pleased with his record. Assessor—James Reid w a bonny Scotchman, and resides at Moore's \ Flat where he is part. owner in the ~~ Blue Banks mine. He is a good man. ~Surveyor—H. S, Bradley is present : Surveyor and resides in thiacity. He ‘is a faithful and competent official. Supt. of Schools—Geo, E. Robinson. Is thd present inéumbent.+ Coroner—To be filled by Central Committee. Public Administrator—J. J>Weisenburger is a student in ‘the law office of J. M. Walling at this city. Machimery, was erected, and considerable ore that paid $20 per ton -~was takeu out, Tho company ran south for the chute’ of ore, instead of narth as most miners believe they should. have done, and the profits were notso great as could have been desired. About teu years ago the hoisting works burned‘down, and the owners being somewhat discouraged at such a misfortune abandoned.the. property. The relocators say they intend to have works put up again and push ahead the develepment-of the ledge,'the ifcline and drain stilt being being in gidid shape. They have five canvassers and collectors already at work, and three more are on the way here. They havealready lithographed a large number of views jot our scenery, and are circulating copies of them free of charge among our citizens. The tunnel of the Moston & Davis ledge at Orleans Flat is now ina distance of 320 feet, giving 180 feet backs. ‘The ledg¢is three feet thick and rich in fine sulphurets and free gold.
