having been built during the past few
months.
The oldest company in the sicinity is the
Forest Springs Mining Company. This
company made a sale of one-of their ledges,
the Norambagua,to Cronise & Co. , on Tuesday last for $100,000. The company still

establish its richness beyond question. .
The beat among the new ledges is the}
“‘Goldeh. Rock,” owned. by Childers, Brogan, Watson & Co. This claim’ was locatéd in 1865, aud it has been werked steadily
ever since October of that year. A tunnel
of 400 feet-diag been run and the ledge was
tapped on Wedneeday last. It is two feet
wide and the rock shows free gold and rch
sulphurets. More importance is attached
to this ledge from the fact that it is on a direct line between the Ione and Norambagua.
The croppings were richer than those of
any ledge in the vietnity.
THe Deav Woov.—The Dead Wood
jedge is located on. Deer Creek, abore the
Oriental mill. It was located some years
ago and-worked;but~ did ‘not pay. The
company now owning it, put up machinery
and determined to go below the water level.
They are now dowh between fifty and sixty
feet below the surface, and aré taking vut
reek which pays over sixty dollars to the
tua. ‘They have had a crushing which yield.
ed $78 tothe ton. The ledge is two feet
wide-and—weltdetined. The owners have
the ‘‘dead wood” ona fortune.

of rare balsamic herbs and piants with the purest and mildest of all diflusiye stimulanta.
‘The weak stomach is rapidly invigorated and
the appetite restored by this agreeabie ‘Tonic,
and hence it works wonders in case of Dyspepsis and in less contirmed forms of Indigestion,
‘Acting ae a gentile and painless as well
as upon the iiver, it also invariably relieves the
constipation superinduced by irregular aption of
the diyestive organs.
The agony o1 Bilious colic is immediately assuaged by a single dose of the stimulant, and by

complaint may prevented.
