The Crystal Spring Saw Mill De' stroyed. \U: The Crystal Spring saw mill, owned by M. L. & D. Marsh, about two and a half miles from this city, was totally destroyed by fire on Friday night, together with about 400,000 feet of lumber in’ the yard, the machinery and everything about the mill. The origin of the fire is not known, .as the’ mill was entirely enveloped in flamés when the alarm was given. Two men, Myron B. Kelsey, engineer, and Reagan the teamster, were.sleeping in the upper part of the mill. Kelsey escaped through the mill, but. was cousiderably scorched.. Reagan, whe--was awakened by Kelsey calling, was cut off from eséape by the flames, and he jumped from:.a. window fifteen feet to the ground, without injury. The men think as the fire.came from . the lower part of the mill, where the bojler and engine are located, it must _ have caught from a spark from the tire, though the engineer is contident the fire was all out when he retired. The fire oceirred about half past 9 o'clock, and" the wind was blowing very hard.at.the time. The loss is probably not less than $15,000 upon which there was no insurance. The mill was one of the best in this county. --@dd Fellows Excursion. NY .
