. ACCIDENT.—An accident oceurred at the
Kate Hayes wine on Tuesday evening, suys
the Grass Valley Uniun, which resulted in
seriously injuring. two men, Gee. Ellis and
James Richards. While the ear that is
used fof taking the rock out of the shaft
was coming up the incline; heavily louded,
the coupling broke, which let the car ruy
back at a terrible speed. The men below
in the shaft, managed to get out of the way,
with the exception of the two named above.
Ellis received a fracture of the skull, and
Riehards bad his left foot -badly-mashed.—
