GRAND LaRCENY.—On Saturday
night last, a Chinese store at San Juan
_was robbed of a lot of goods, and suspicion attached to a Chinanian who left.
the place. Bob, Huckins took the Chinaman interested and started in pursuit
of the thief, passing through this city
early Sunday morning. He kept trace
of the “absquatulator” until they reach~
ed Michigan Bluff, Placer county,
where he was overhauled and arrested.
On Tuesday night Huckins passed
through this city on his return to San
Juan, where it was expected the pris~
‘oner would be examined before Judge
Stotlar yesterday,
BoARD OF SUPERVISORS.—The Bosrd
met yesterday morning at.10 o’clock,.
-and the repert of Surveyor Bradiey
relative to the survey of boundary_line
between Nevada and Yuba counties,
was accepted and ordered recorded in
tke récord of proceedings.
The following bills were allowed : M.
Byrne, Special Fund, 98; G.’ K. Far$251 ; Jack Studly, $65; Amos Root,
$140 ; John Mancy, $93. The last four
were in attendance upon small pox.
VACANCIES.—Among the list of candidates in our colamns we fail to notice
any names for the offices of Senator,
Superintendent of Schools, Coroner,
Public Administrator or Supervisor of
the Second District. Come, gentlemon,

DoInc WELL.—The Fourth of July
celebration goes. ‘The Soliciting Com»
mittee have raised over $800 already,
and the canvass is incomplete. The
General Committee will meet at the
Pennsylvania Engine House, this evening, when further arrangements will
be made for the celebration.
ARESIGNED.—The resignation of C. F.
Bucey; Constable of Eureka township,
was yesterday accepted by the Supervisors to take effect June 10th, 1869.

$2,100. The mines in the vicinity of
Blue Tent are yielding very handsomely

persong have reported thatthe Suspension bridge. was:about.tumbling down,
but we are assured that this isa canard.
The greatest “tumbling down” that has
occurred lately is that in the dry goods
