where the richest silver and copper
mines in Texas have recently been dis

as the abodes of spirits or devils, and the
extremely superstitious Apaches gave
the haunted Diabolo Mountains a wide
berth. Until very recently the dark,
terrible and frowning mount has never

first white man to enter the so-called
habitation of spirits. With a tallow candie and prospect pick, he pengtrated the
