Ford, who has been employed for several
years past in the diggings of ex-Senator
Watt, at Grase Valley, was detected and
convicted of stealing a lot of valuable quartz
specimens, on Friday last. He was sentenced to the county jail for six months and
to pay a fine of $300, and if not paid he is to
