An Exciting Runaway.
The most exciting runaway of th
'geason occurred yesterday noon, A
‘team belonging to M. P. Hatch of
Indian Springs, and attached to a
Jight wagon, started from the neighhorhood of Lawrence & Barloaw’s
foundry, and scooted down Sacra‘mento street as far as Supervisor
Mills*'residence, where they collided
with a lamp post. Then they turned
and ran up the railroad track in front
of the depot, breaking the scales.
Next the wagon came in contact with
the corner of a box car and was
wrecked. The horses becoming detached at this point ‘ran around the
south end of the depot to Sacramento
“street, thence to the Plaza, bringing.
up fimally at Mr. Mills’ stable on
Pine street.

Las Vegas Mining World :~It is
really encouraging toa mining man
to read of the interest which is be. ginning to be manifested in the low. mining camps. ‘There are thousands

it to the owners if reduced. Many
of the high-grade mines were in the
habit of throwing on the waste dump,
in the palmier days, oréswhich they
now. begin to think are not entirely
beneath their notice, and they are
consequently casting about them for
some means of using these orés, The
movement is one in the right direetion, and one which we are confident
will effect the very best results. . An

make its owners milNonaires in a few
months or a year. ‘‘A dollar saved is
a dollar earned” is just as applicable to mining as to any other indusbe adopted by the owners of lowgrade mines or a quantity of lowgrade ore,
