THe Star Company.—The Star Quartz Mining Company. have struck an excellent ledge six miles east of Eureka. The quartz. is exceedingly.gved, sme pieces showing free gold. The Company are getting their mill ready to start, and will in a short time be able to have acrushing trom their new ledge. This company was organized for }€ospecting about two years ayo, on the ledges between Washington and Eureka: A New Discoveny.—A tew days since a ot Eureka, -The ledge is twenty feet wide, and the prospeets fromthe croppings are equal to those of Meadow Lake quartz.— Heretofore all the ledges opened in this section of the county, have been found east ofthe town. Nearly every day n diseoveries are being made in quartz about Eureka, and it is-destined to become ove of the most presperous mining localities in the county. ’ RESUMED.—The strike ot the Banner mine isatan end. The hands went te work, for $3 per day, as soon as they found tlie owners were determined not to pay more. The wages for winers in this vicinity range from two and @ balf to three and a half, according to the character of the work and the nature of the ground to be worked.—.
