The Merrifield Mining Company of this district has begun suit in the Superior Court against the Provi“dence Mining” Company; whose-propty adjoins the former's claim on the ‘south, Deer creek being ‘the. dividing line. ‘The suit is for $56,000 damages and to recover a certain portion -of the ledge at their respective lines; also to procure a temporary injune‘the arrival of Messrs. As each of the visitors came. into the’ building . he met them at thé outer door, and carefully watched all their movements till they were seated. An unprejudiced observer would at once have divined from tis actions that he was afraid lest some plan be carried ont to ‘‘catch” him if possible. Finally he entered the p irlors, and placing himself in a position to command ‘2 view. of the outer entrance announced that he was ready to, proceed. The Nevada TRANSCRIPT seeins slightly riled at var ridicule of the idea of appointing a committee of eitizens to watch and find out ‘what other citizens visit certain disreputable places. We stippose the ¢ aimivns will be appointed, and as the dut, of that body is of ‘a _very dignified nature, we should perhaps, give a more tony appellation to that outtit and call them Peeping Thomasses. But, after all, who is -going to watch that committeo?—Union. The Uaion is mistaken, Only regular detectives will be employed.
