STANTON, Sec’y of War. sinnnlpmiletisidanwscahiiusi ACCIDENT.—A little daughter of Mr. Finnie, aged 12 years, of the firm of Finnie. & Kensy, was riding on Thursday evening on a gentle horse, through one of the principal streets in Grass Valley, says the National, when some dranken men unintentionally frightened the horse, and she was thrown violently to the ground. — She was considerably bruised and badly shocked, so that she is still confined to her bed. No serious. consequences are appre-hended. The horse stood still as though nothing had happened, and seemed to be astonished at what had occurred. — ee At Walnut Grove, Sacramento county, May 25th,a little daughter of H. W. Odell, {some five years old, was gathering roses off the bank of the river, and accidentally fell in and was drowned, Tue Gold Hill News of the 25th ult., says the small.pox is spreading in Virginia City.
