A Grass Valley boy who was among the Tuesday evening excursionists had wfistic encounter with a Nevada youngster, just before the train left the depot here, and succeeded in warming the latter's jacket_in fine style. The stores of W. H. Smith, Jackson & Richardsand A, D. & P. Satton, in this city, have each beea fur nished with a mammoth japanned and highly ornameated tea caddy by the firm of E, Guittard & Co, San Francisco. To the front of each-can is attached a handsome miniature clock of curious construction. Mies Sadie, daughter of Elijah Booth, of this city, is lying dangerously ill of pneumonia, at Sacramento, and her parents have gone to ber bedside, She has been sick for some time, and it is feared may not recover.
