EXTRAORDINARY GrowTH. — Four
days ago some bafley was planted on
the head of an ale cask, at the National
Exchange Saloon, made its appearance
above the earth and since that time it
has grown six inches in hight. In six

Srreet Drii.—The Nevada Light
Guard is ordered out in full uniform for
street drill on next Wednesday Evening. As the 4th of July will soon be here
and it is important that every member

TEACHER's EXAMINATION.—At a late
meeting of County Superintendents a

_NEW_Eprtor.—A. Morse, late teacher of thé High School in Grass Valley,
will take editorial charge of the Grass
Valley National. Mr. Morse is a vigorous writerand isa Democrat of the

L.P. Barrett will play in this city on
