vengeance. The House, which is

and sailor, including non-commissioned officers, wusicians, mariners,
regulars and volunteers, for every

1861, and May 18, 1865. To pay
this little bill it will require only between eighty and-one hundred million dollars; but what of that! Will
it not spike the guns of Republican

the whole matter is a shrewd pettitrick. If the Senate passes
the bill and it receives the signature
of the President, then it will be the
means of putting eight und One-third
dollars per mouth for four years,
into the pockets of all Confederate
soldiers. On'the other hand,-if the
Senate refuses to pass it, thon it will
be a good thing to make cupital of
