BANNER oT RAWASAAIES. a Recently-Felix Gillet, our popular nnrseryoran, forwarded to the offithe California Farmer, some boxes of strawberries taken from his narseryin this city. The manner in which the fruit was packed secured its arrival at San Francisco in a perfect condition. The berries were carefully laid in with luyers of grape leaves above and below, and above aud below the grape leaves was a thin layer vf hay. The boxes were well ventilated. The editor of the Rara) Press says the packige he received was the best he has ever sven for the carriage of a delicate prodact like the strawberry. Among the varieties in the boxes the following are particularly mentioned in the Farmer: The “Carolina Saperba,”’ a French variety; this is a fine conical berry, large, bright color, and delicivus wive taste. The ‘‘Bourgouigaoarnne,” from Borgundy; -a handsome berry, {uli 5 inches in circumference, and of rich aromatic flavor. The ‘‘Bonne Bonche,”’ a variety heretofore described in thesé columps, This is guid to be one of the finest flavored, strawberries ever cultivated, and is mammoth in proportions. . —__-_ OLD SPRIXG GRAVEL MINING Co.
