The company have _ taken out an immense quantity of beautiful looking quartz within the past few months, aud as 300n as the mill is. ready will com. . You Bet ~ Brooklyn Lodge, No. 46,1. 0. O. F , held at WEDNESDAY MORNING, JUNE 29tb. LOCAL MATTERS. Thiscompany, whose mine is situated near the head ofthe forks of —DisemondCreek, four miles-from, Omega, will have their new mill-completed and in running order in about two weeks. It-is_said to be A menece crushing. short time ago the tested; which paid $22 50 per ton, besides all the expenses of taking it’out aud hauling it here, a distance -of about. 26 miles. Nevada county abounds in good paying lodes, but men lack the energy to gét at this branch of business, which in time is bound to be the most prominent of the va. rious kinds of mining. Some men, by sinking a coyote hole, sf they do net discover a ton, abandon. it forthwith, when io reality rates of labot and crushing, $10 and $12 per vou, ought to be cousidered good. One thing? has been cleerly demonstrated of late, that and thicker they" ‘are, -So far as Nevada is concerned, we believe there are men here now who are-bound to make # good deal of money out of quartz, or lose: considerable ‘and We have not the least doubt of the fors mer being the case. “4 — ENTERTAINMENT. ‘THIS EVENING.—On account of the meeting of the “Christian Commission,” Mr. C. B. Plummer did not appear as advertised, but postponed his en« tertainment till this evening, in order’to give everybedyia chance to attend both places.— We sincérely hope that the Baptist Church will be crowded to-night. Pluwmer is decidedly a gezius, as «. ! ua a good elocutionist, and a perfect imitator.-Go everybody, for there never will be sv good an opportuni. ty again to enjoy a rich treat. The admission is only fifty cents, and it is worth a dol« lar if seven-eighths of the shows that come along are worth two bits. STRUCK IT.—We are glad to record the fact that our venerable friend, Hon. Seth Martin, has struck the celebrated blue lead on his claims at You Bet, very rich indeed. Our informant says that in all probability Seth will erect a mill on tte claims very soon. Should he do so, it will: make the seventh b mill. that hag beén erected iu that vicinity is a splendid mining section.
