ENTERTAINMENT. ‘THIS EVENING.—On
account of the meeting of the “Christian
Commission,” Mr. C. B. Plummer did not
appear as advertised, but postponed his en«
tertainment till this evening, in order’to give
everybedyia chance to attend both places.—
We sincérely hope that the Baptist Church
will be crowded to-night. Pluwmer is decidedly a gezius, as «. ! ua a good elocutionist, and a perfect imitator.-Go everybody,
for there never will be sv good an opportuni.
ty again to enjoy a rich treat. The admission is only fifty cents, and it is worth a dol«
lar if seven-eighths of the shows that come
along are worth two bits.
STRUCK IT.—We are glad to record the
fact that our venerable friend, Hon. Seth
Martin, has struck the celebrated blue lead
on his claims at You Bet, very rich indeed.
Our informant says that in all probability
Seth will erect a mill on tte claims very soon.
Should he do so, it will: make the seventh b
mill. that hag beén erected iu that vicinity
is a splendid mining section.
WILSon & Zoyana's Crrcts will’ pers
form at Moore's Flat on the 6th #f July,
North San Juan on the 7th, and Graas Valley onthe 8th and 9th. We Lave also been
requested to state that the Circus will not
£0 to Red Dog or You Bet. Persons living
in that section of the county, desirous of
seeing this great show, are advised to visit
this city on the 4th of July. Exciting time

We shall sell our Goods, =z
H-EXCLUSIVELY FOR CASH.
We shall keepno more running accounts, and
all Goods ordered must be paid for when purchased or ion delivery.
‘We have been forced to. pursue this course,
from the gréat difficalty-and loss that iias been
sustained in collecting eucha large number of
accounts as have heretofore been on the Books
of this House.
In a credit business, the GOOD and
PROMPT PAYING . customers have to
“) Pay for the doubtful ones; as the Mer. .

By adopting the
Cash Principle?!
In our business, we shall be able to sell at
LOWER PRICES
Than it would be possible fo do under the credit system, and with our facilities in San.Francisco, will be able to give our customers all the
