Through this section, 8 channel appears to extend, ahd it is so deep that the bed rock has never yet been reached; except in the river, thotigh shafts have been sunk between one and two hundred feet below the suriace. The pay ground is a strata of gravel extending fifty and sixty feet below the surface. After a run of five days Willis & Phelps recently cleaned up $2,500.—-€reagan & Bowles in the same time took out $1,200. Wilcox & Co:, Woods & Co., and others, are working with excellent success in their claims.— » The section around Columbia Hill, is more prosperous than it has been for many years. Lat week, one of the newly organized prospecting anies struck their ledge two feet and a half w The rock will pay from eighty to one bundr lara. per ton A fine ten_stamp—mill_will-soon be erected near the town of Eurtka for the parpose of crushing rock from a ledge which has been thoroughly proepected. , ——~FreORIENTAL MING.—The Oriental Mining Company, whose claims are located on Deer Creek, and whose works are under the superittendence of Fred, Miller, Esq., have about seventy tone of excellent rock upon the surface. ‘The mill will commence running on Monday next, and rock will be taken out in sufficient quantities to keep, the mill in constant operation. This mine is one of the oldest and best on Deer Creek. During the next mvnth the compa-.
