VIII. To anter into, make, perform and carry out contracts of every kind and character with any person, firm, association or corporation, and to insure for the benefit of this corporation, or otherwise, any of its officers or employees. Ix. To purchase, own, sell, convey, mortgage, pledge, exchange, acquire by operation of law, or otherwise, personal property of every kind and character, debts, dues and demands, choses in action, and each and every kind of personal property, evidence of debts, ponds, stock of this and other corporations, both public and private, which the corporation may deem necessary and convenisnt for its business, or otherwise, and to consolidate this corporation with any other corporation if it be deemed neoessary so to do. X. fo acquire and undertake all and any part of the business, assets and liabilities of any person, firm, association or corporation. XI. To borrow and lend money from or to any person, firm, association, and to make, take and execute notes, mortgages, bonds, deeds of trust, or other evidence of indebtedness to secure the payment thereof, or by any other lawful manner or means, and to take and receive notes, bonds, mortgages, deeds of trust, or any evidence of indebtedness for the use and benefit of said corporation, or otherwise. XII. To buy, purchase, own, acquire by operation of law, or otherwise, sell, exchange, dispose of, hypothecate, or mortgage public or private bonds, shares of the capital stock of this, or any other corporation, or security of any Tira, association or corporation.
