. Supreme Being, quoting the scriptures in an ‘Bevada DailyTranscript. the Report of the County Auditor, for three . __ th SN -— FRIDAY MORNING, MARCH 10, THE INavGuRAL.—Beriah’s Press, and several other papers, profess to believe that Mr. Liacoln'sinatgucelina forgery and a burlesque upon the President. They ean see . Bo propriety inthe chief of a great nation, giving, as the varying exigencies of the war seems to dethand. prayer or thanks to the "who periodically re a fast or @ thanks. inaugural address, or humbly recognizing the Divine hand in the greatevents of the day. — After Buchanan’sservility and Pierce’s _ prettiness, they expect a President who is dealing with the life of the nation and the freedom of millions, to polish periods and indalgein intellectual gymnastics. rect rendering of this address as it was published in the Sacramento Union struck us as characteristic of Mr. Lincoln's open-hearted, unaffected, reverential character. .In every tage of this great contest he has constantly . __ referred the people to the ‘superintending Of the people, spoken inthe recent election, SS pent iors quicksilver, as may be noticed in a thermom~-more difficult-for fine particles of gold to __ track will be laid ata hight of 63 feet above ~ ‘tke Ewperor Maximilian on the Mexican Providence that vould, and as he devoutly . Dee: 1 Te cash in Tand, Ze believed, would, bring great good out ef these national thanks. The calm determination appears in the address to prosecute the war for the Union until every vestige of its greatest curse is removed, and the nation is reunited and purified, is the simple echo of the great voice and which gave him the right to speak on that day the future poli-y of the Government. Knowing Mr. Lincoln’s ‘sincerity we may rest assured that every word of the inawgural was weighed before it was spoken, and that no deceitful compromises, no half-way ‘measures will be adopted ;, but rather the great work will go on to its end even if the providence of the Almighty God shall decree that before its objects are attained all the wealth piled up by hundreds of years of unTequited toil of the slave shall be dissipated, lash the sword shall have full vengeance. THe warmer weather ofthe past week has anlocked the mountain streams again, and furnished a supply of water. A gentleman from Little York township informs us that daring the long cold snap most of the miners suspended work, but have again resumed operations. The miners havea theory that during freezing weather quicksilver will not . amalgamate the gold as readily as when the weather is warm, and that much of the gold goes off at the tail of the sluices. We think this idea is correct. Cold consolidates the eter, and this greater density must make it penetrate the mass. Warm water spreads ~the quicksilver over a greater space, renders it thinner, and of course, more receptive. For this reason warm water is_always used for amalgamating in quartz tills. The ‘Spting months, especially April and May, are the best for mining. Bs ae Paciric RaiLnoap.—The Bee learns from one who was there, that the trestle work over the immense ravine at Neweastle, on id line of the Central Pacific Railroad, will be completed next week.
