‘ How foolish it is for miners to go off
to White’ Pine when they have within
their reach such mines as these. Other

Serious ACCIDENT.—On Sunday last,
a serious accident, occurred at the residence of N. Cadwalader, at Birchville.
His wife had been confined on Saturday
and she was sleeping while the nurse:
‘was holding the little one in her arms.
A spirit lamp which was burning in
the room caught on fire, and the nurse
attempted to put it out when the flame
caught her clothes. At this junctere
Mrs. Cadwalader awoke, and springing
from the bed extinguished the’ flames.
When the excitement subsided she was
taken with a severe chill, and since
that time has been in @ critical condition.te We yesterday received.the following with a request for, its publica~

teacher, wishes to obtain a situation as
resident governess in a private family,
where she will have the comforts of a
home. She teaches the various English branches, music and French, and

IMPORTANT TO THE LADIES,
When a female is in trouble or afflicted with
disease, and requires medical or surgical attendance, the enquiry shonld be, where is
there.a physician who is fully competent to administer relief, and whose respectable standing in society recommends him to the confidence of the community t ‘The Doctor understanding how imperatively necessary these requirements are, 1cels called upon to interpose,
and by ming the attention of the afflicted to
the fact that he has been a Professor of Obstetrics and Female Diseases for ‘'wemty Years,
and is fully qualified to administer in all cases
both medically and surgically, not in a superficial manner; but in ds thorough a manner as
years of study and practice—both in hospitals
and families—can make, to save them from the
