As to the tronage, we have our share, and our columns show that it is the “Jion’s share’’ too; and as to the end of this controversy, = just wait a few days longer till we get through with ‘this ‘‘slickens racket” and you will see about the sickest rooster over at the Appeai office you have seen in many a day. If the statement of the Democrat in relation tothe. money received by the Appeal and Record-Union, from the Miners’ Association, be true, it places those journals in a most unenviable position. We-believe the statement in both instances is simply a canard, and something more than an assertion will be required before the people will believe so serious a charge. It surely is in order for those journals to deny it if they can: The Appeal'in reply to the Democrat Bays: ‘The Hydraulic. Monitor conorgan of the hydraulic miners. But-the fact remains that ‘the -hydraulic miners are sustaining it. Tf the Hydraulic Monitor was pub lished as an out-and-out Valley journal, the hydraulic minerr would not touch it with a fortyfoot-pole. This is about the weakest: reply in answer to a serious charge that we ever read. The Appeal, perhaps, thinks “itis the best .way toadopt, but the Democrat intimates that in a few days somestil. more startling developments wil. be made. The Democrat shoula be made to prove its charge: against our friend-of-the-Appeal;or suffer the consequences. We were not aware that the Democrat qas a friend of the hydraulic mi nefy-and it will be news to those residing.in this section.
