THE WEATHER.—The sun came out
brightly from behind the clouds yesterday
for the first time in a week. The wind
was from the right quarter and there was
every prospect for fair weather. A month
of sunshine would be a blessing.
PosTPONEMENT.—The party for the
benefit of George H. Edmonds, anhounced
for Wednesday evening next, has been
postponed to Wednesday, March the 18th,
on account of the weather. ~
GIVEN Bonpbs.—I. P. Van Hagen, charg-.
ed with extorting illegal fees as Justice of
the Peace, in San Francisco, has given
bail in the sum of $500 to appear for trial.
THE Union State Central Committee
has been called to meet in San Francisco
on the 10th of April, for the purpose of
calling a State Convention and transacting
other business.
