The Nevada Ice Company informs
a3 that they have harvested their
saoply of ice for this year. They
put up about four hundred tons each
year. Their market is Grass Valley
oni this city. Their -store hoase

“Sitka Company, the Boca Mill and . —
“Ice Company, the Summit Ice Company, and another’ at. Prosser creek,
we believe. The Sitka Company,
previous to the completion of the4—
Railroad, had a monopoly of all the
ice business’ on this coast. "They
had the sole privilege of shipping ice:
from Sitka’ from the Russian Gov.
-ervnment,and-as there Was none -produced ou this . coast adjacent to a
market, they had a monopoly. Now
they do not ship i ice from the north,
but buy of the companies producing
_itin the mountains aleng the line of
the RaiJroad. The Boca Mill and
Jee Company put. up yearly about
seven hundred tons,and the. other
companies nearly as much each.
Since the combination was formed
the companies haye been enabled to
sell at a good profit, and as no ‘cpposition is likely to be inaugurated, the .
business will bea remunerative one
as long as. Simmérbrings warm
weather and a demand for ice, .

Being Worked.
The old Harvey ledge, located on:
