"They had the sole privilege of shipping ice: from Sitka’ from the Russian Gov. -ervnment,and-as there Was none -produced ou this . coast adjacent to a market, they had a monopoly. Now they do not ship i ice from the north, but buy of the companies producing _itin the mountains aleng the line of the RaiJroad.
