laid open their lead for a great distance and
aré how taking out some beautiful looking
rock. This is one of the new discoveries.
It is estimated that the compuny have in
sight not less than a thousand tons of quartz,
and we heard a gentleman, who pretends
to be.a good judge, sxy that he believed it to
be the best lead om the coast, but that fact
remains to be proven. The company have
completed a roud around the bend ef the
hill to connect with the one leading to this
city, and we presume they . will commence
hauling rock this week.
ee
, THERE are hundreds of i claimed
and unclaimed, on, the line of the Snow
Mountain-diteh,-that. will pay big just as
soon as they are-opened. No better plate
is offered for prospectors than in that locality, aad old quartz miners: are beginning to
find ft out. “In all probability four or five
mills will be‘erected there: this season.
New Leapir-And s atill another new lead
was discovered near the Snow. Mountain
ditch, last week. It. -prospects splendidly,
and work is ta be commeneed. on. it. immediately. By the croppings the lead ie of great
dimensions, and sowe. free gold: was found
in the top rock. .
Paying WL. The New York a
ny, better known ag the Sneath & Clay
mine, are taking out some good rock.
We leara, that the average pay is $40 per}
ton: They have one’ of the very best of
mills, and the mine is as good as ang in this
part of the country. ,
Fine TEAM.— We-have sariioies referenée to that dne tecently purchased by
Messrs. Gregory & Waite, for the dehvery
of goods from their house “within « reasonable distance, free of charge.”
ROBBERY.—A trunk belonging te a mah
named Alexander, was broken open, at a
hotel in Culfax, a few, days ago, and rebbed
of the following articles: 3 coats, 2 pair
pants; § bhirte, a hat, revolver, a ‘set. of
