Thursday the Glenbrook Jockey
Club met at Glenbrook Park. It

National Surgical Institute.
The Pacific Branch Permanently
Established in San Francisco.
Since the first visit of Dr. H.R. Allen
(the founder ef the National Surgical In‘stitute) to thig coast, neariy two years ago,
it has been the intention of the Institute to
establish a Branch in San,Francisco, The
subsequent visits of other Surgeuns of the
Institute, and the unparalleled success
which attended thein, has served oily t@}strengthen the project. After the expend.
iture of much time, labor snd money in
preparing instruments, machinery, etc.,
the Pacific Branch is at last permanently
established, and will be open for the reception of patients by the middle of this
month. For the present, and until further
notice, the business will be continued at
their old building, No. 319 Bush street, between Kearny and Montgomery, San Francisco. The machinery for the Swedish
movement and vacuum cure; Galvanic and
Electrical apparatus, and for giving the
Electro Thermal, ‘turkish, Vapor and other
baths, has all been received from the East

placed in position. Dr. J. M. Hinkle, one
of the Institute, associated with Dr. Thos.
Mayon and a corps of skilled assistants, are
