A Nrw Source or Guano.—Peru,
it seems, can no longer lay claim to
a monopoly of this unrivaled fertilizer. The Governor of the Bahamas
has reported that ‘‘eave earth,’’ or
guano is found on the islands in
large quantities; and he thinks there

material. Some cute Yankee firm,
before the value of the ‘‘cave earth’’
was known, secured a seven years’
monopoly on ridiculously easy terms.
For some time, thén, the, Bahamas
will be debarred from profiting to
any material extent in their newly
discovered wealth.
