MINING ACCIDENT.—Yesterday afternoon” a keg of powder containing
about thirty pounds was accidentally
exploded in the Pittsburg mine. The
explosion occurred immediately after a,

to have been caused by concussion, A
numberof men were in the vicinity at
the time but only four men were injaredand none of them seriously. John
Richards.-was slightly burned’ in the
face ; John Thomas had his face and
arms burned; Edward Rowe had his
face and-head slightly injured and Arthur Kingdom was burned about the /
face and body. Two others were slightly injured. The wounds were dressed
by Dr. Hunt. x
