Arrest of Constable Reed.
Constable James Reed of Meadow’ Take township has been arrested for the shooting of Joe Dysart
at Truckee recently, and will have
kis preliminary hearing as soon as
the infanticide case of CharlesGiffen, . _
which comes up for examination
next Monday, has heen disposed of,
Dysart:is reported to be in‘a dangerous condition with slight prospect
for his recovery, It will be remem—
bered that the shooting grew out
of-a-personal row between the two
principals. Reed claims that Dysart
attempted to draw a weapon and
that the shot was fired in self—-defense. Dysart, on the contrary,.says he can prove that. he had. not
been in the hahit of going armed for
several years, had no weapon on his
person when he-was fired at, and
made no effort to draw one,
Boy Priseners from Trackoc.
Constable Greely yesterday morning. brought down from Truckee
John Wilson and John Munson, aged
about sixteen years, and turned
them over to Jailor Woods with
whom they will spend the next 30
days. These precocious youngsters
had been found guilty in Justice
Dunster’s Court of stealing a pair of
peeve boots from a Mongolian named Ah Foo. They could
ttt liquidate the fine of $30 imposed
it each case, hence their retireinent to the dumgeon.
