Be Baily Granserys \ NEVADA CITY, CALIFORNIA, ~ LOCAL INTELLIGENCE, A SEVERE FaLu.—Frank, a son of William Turnham, aged about seven years, had a serious fall yesterday ‘morning. On the way to school he stopped at the residence of Mr. Butehinson to wait for the children of the] * latter, and took a seat,on the porch, He was taken ‘with a fit and fell from’ the porch a distance of ten or twelve feet to the ground striking upon a rock. He received several severe bruises and a cut upen-the forehead ; but his injuries aré not of a serious character. . THe Pic-Nic.—The picnic of the Congregational and Methodist Sunday ' Schools.will take place, weather per.. mitting, on Saturday next. The pupils of the Sunday Schools. will meet. at their respective Churches at 8 o’¢lock A. M., when wagons will be on hand in readiness to carry the children to the: ' ground. ‘Those who lave baskets are} requested to have them marked with the name, and also to have them on hand in good season. The pic-nic will Be held.on the ground at the head 4 . Peck’s ravine. As the two schools have coneluded to nnite, no doubt the pic-nic will be very largely attenged by friends of both schools. OF RosEDALE.—The Theatre was crowded_on ree to witness the. performatiee of Rosedale by Barrett ‘and the Maguire troupe. The audience was ABlighted. The receipts at the door] were over $400. The manner in which our people turned out on this occasion, demonstrates that a first-class troupe can always draw in Nevada. CavuGut.—Yesterday afternoon Under Sheriff Potter arrested George Carr, ' onacharge of stealing a gold watch ~ from Johi Garvey of Quaker Hill. The . watch was taken ou Sunday night, and pawned to Bowen for $35 yesterday. Carr had been down to Grass Valley. to “splurge” on the money, and: Potter caught liim on the stage coming back. He will bé examined to-day. Business CHANGE.—W. H. H. Coff. 44 man has bought the National Cigar Store of Alex. Zekind, and will continue to keep the place supplied with the best cigars, smoking and chewing tobacco, pipes, &c. Coffman has many friends and he is bound to do well. County Court, May 18th.—The People vs. Hastings. Affidavit filed and motion made for continuance. Motion overruled and exception taken. Latta vs. Marker. Dismissed by stipulation of parties. McCullough vs. Star Mining Company. Triéd and submitted. Court adjourned to Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. A Heavy Svrr.—William Maltman of this city has brought suit against the Coalite Gold and Silver Mining Co., in San Francisco, to recover $70,000 for services as Superintendent’ of the Company’s mine in Mexico. Mr. Maltman‘was int Mexico sometime as. Superintendent of the Company. Biug. Leap Mrxine Co—Jones & , Co. have located “2,000 feet of ground on the northerly side of Sherman’s -ravine, Gtass Valley township. The ground is halfa mile east of the Ione mill, and is to be worked for the blue cmment which it contains. NaTURALIZED.—Peter Pereell and Daniel O’Rouke, natives of Ireland, were yesterday naturalized in the County Court. Witnesses, R. B. Patten and Thos.
