The trial of D. J. Hickey, charged with
burning the Round House of the Central
Pacific Railroad Company, at Truckee,
some months ago, came up in the County
Court yesterday. J. W. Coffroth, W. W.
Gross, and J: I. Caldwell, District Attorney, appeared for the prosecution, and M.
&.Deal forthe defense. All of the wit-. nesses for the prosecution were present,and
only two-out of eleven for the defense were .

nine defaulting witnesses. A jury was empanelled, and the trial commenced in the
