Ap adjourned meeting of. the comcelebration, was held at the Sheriff's
éffice Friday evening. The committee
seported & total thus far subscribed of

Chamberlain Bros., own a ranch on
Coon Creek, near Lincoln, from 25
acres of vines, all of foreign varieties, . ‘I
made last year 6,000 gallons of wine,
and a quantity of brandy, beside selling
a sufficient quantity of grapes to more
than pay the cost of culture. 8. R.
Chamberlain, one of the brothers, visited this city on Friday, and sold the en.
tire stock of wine and brandy. The
purchasers have determined toship the
whole stock direct to Chicago,confident
that they will finda good market ata
fair profit. ‘The wines are far superior
in flavor to moat California wines.—
Last year the entire product of the
same ranch Was shipped East and sold
at a profit.

Discourse To-Night.
J ter. E. Halleday will deliver a discourse to-night at the Congregational
Church, at 7} o’clock, on the following
subject : “Sampson, or Lost Opportunity,”—an appeal to young men. An
invitation is extended to all, espécially
the young men.
Baytiat Preaching.
A dispatch was received from Rev.
Mr. Wirth, who is absent, stating that
he will preach in the Baptist Church,
in this city, this, Sunday evening.
A new Process.
A peace officer on his way ‘honte a
few nights since, was made familiar
with a new kind of process more “odoraus” than agreeable, emanating from
an evening traveler. The aforesaid officer has’nt worn the coat he had on
